|Pool petition for HH residents to sign and circulate|
Thank you to those that have already signed the petition. In just 48 hours, we have collected almost 300 signatures. if you have not signed yet, your support would be greatly appreciated. If you have signed, if you can pass along to your spouse (signatures are per voting age person, not household), family, and/or friends it would be very much appreciated. The more support we can generate for this the better. I truly believe that a new and/or renovated pool would be a huge boon to our swim team and the community in general
As mentioned in a previous post, the Hatboro Horsham School District has had some discussion about new/expanded aquatic facilities. This could be very beneficial for our community, the kids of the district, and our swim and dive team. It is important for us to let the school board know that we see the need for these facilities and voice our support for their expansion/enhancement. If you are a Hatboro Horsham resident, please consider signing this petition and passing it along to your friends and family.

|Action needed for new pool construction in Hatboro-Horsham|
It has come to our attention that the Hatboro-Horsham school district board of directors have been discussing the potential for a new pool in the district, likely at Crooked Billet elementary school. The school board is supposedly conducting a feasibility study and analyzing traffic patterns over the next 3 weeks.
As a board, we would be very supportive of a new pool that promotes a progressive, 21st Century school district, committed to physical fitness and competitive sports, recognized as a regional “best in class” facility. It would be in HHAA’s best interest for the school district to build at least a 10 lane pool or to build a 6 lane pool at a new location (Crooked Billet) and expand the current pool at Simmons to a 10 lane pool with the addition of another diving board. This would give us flexibility for expanded pool use for the club and US practice to further develop our swim and dive teams, to make them even more competitive at the high school level. A 10-lane pool would potentially allow HHAA to host SAL invitationals, SAL division champs, the PIAA Suburban One Championship Meet, the PIAA district meet, and PIAA invitational meet(s). In addition, the other swim leagues in the area such as Catholic League Champs would have an option to rent HH's new 10-lane facility.
Unfortunately, the school board has not heard much support from the community or the swim team families about the need for either a new pool or an expanded pool at Simmons so there doesn’t seem to be a great sense of urgency for the school board to spend the money and do anything once these studies are completed. If we want to influence the school board, we need to take action immediately to include regular emails to the school members and attending school board meetings to express our interests and concerns.
If you are a Hatboro-Horsham school district resident and have an opinion on this matter, we ask that you please contact the school board and attend school board meetings to express your opinion. The school board needs to hear from the residents in order to represent their constituents.
The next school board meeting is Monday, March 6th at 7pm in the board room of the Administration Building at 229 Meetinghouse Road, Horsham. Public comment is welcome at all meetings. Below are the school board members and their email addresses. You may also notice several of the directors are up for re-election this year.
We will also be sending out a link to petition to sign for support of
Thank you for your support and advocacy to help us grow our swim and dive program in Hatboro-Horsham.
